Biography

Seller, Rolling Stone Magazine drops on Junius: "A perfect hybrid between Neurosis and The Smiths". Or the meaning of the formula. If the comparison seems decidedly exaggerated, the meaning is there. Junius , formed in 2003, offers a sleek post-rock with an angelic voice supported by heavy background guitars. Think of the latest Deftones: Saturday Night Wrist or the eponymous. The vocal resemblance of the singer, Joseph E. Martinez, is blatant. The quartet released its first EP in 2004, Forcing out The Silence before publishing its first LP in 2006, under the title Blood Is Bright . It was in 2008 that The Martyrdom of A Catastrophist raised the group to popularity, through a concept-disc inspired by the theories of Russian psychiatrist Immanuel Velikovsky. Since then, Junius has released a split with Rosetta, which they share in their latest records.
