Kalisia
Biography
Brett Caldas-Lima (guitar and singing), Laurent Pouget (keyboard), Thibaud Gerard (bass), Loïc Tézenas (guitar), and Laurent Bendahan (battery) met in Montpellier in 1994. Together, they will play a death metal both melodic and progressive. This still unmediated style (Opeth is in its infancy and Cynic has just released Focus) allows Kalisia to attract attention. In September 1995, the Skies demo was released 500 copies on K7 and quickly fell out of stock. In front of the group's enthusiasm, the new lead of the French-speaking death-progressive, the Adipocère label offers them to redress Skies on CD, which was released in November 1996. From 1998, Kalisia focused on writing an ambitious concept album, composed of a single track of more than one hour. Initially planned for the early 2000s, it was finally in 2009 that Cybion was born, almost 15 years after their first release. In 2010, Bruno Michel took the place of Loïc Tézenas on the lead guitar; Then it is the drummer position that becomes vacant for a few months and it is Anthony Druz appropriate the drums of Kalisia. The band remains very little publicized and its concerts are rare. They were seen at the Hellfest 2010 for a 30-minute set that was not able to give thanks to all of Cybion. The concept album was played in full only once, in January 2012. Kalisia has remained very discreet ever since.
