Kampfar
Biography
Born of the ashes of Mock, Kampfar is the project of a man: Dolk. Initiated in 1994, the band that is a duo Dolk takes care of singing and drums and Thomas of bass and guitar quickly releases a demo that convinces Season Of Mist to sign them for an eponymous in 1996. It was in 1997 that the real work of the duo was born at Malicious Records. Mellom Skogkledde Aaser offers one of the first real Norwegian Pagan Black Metal records and becomes cult for many. The following year, they again left the label which welcomed him to join Hammerheart Records for the release of an ep entitled Norse and their second album, Fra Underverdenen. Not really good at label relations, Dolk again left in 1999 the house that welcomed him and followed many obscure games between the Norwegian and his three successive labels for dark copyright stories. It was finally in 2003 that the stories became clearer and Kampfar could finally resume his activities with a stable line-up. Dolk now takes care of singing, Thomas guitar, and they recruit Ask to drums and Jon Bakker to bass. In 2006 Kvass , the third combo album, reconnects with Norwegian roots and is released by Napalm Records, followed by Heimgang in 2008. However in 2010, Thomas, who was at the origin of Kampfar and the starting duo, left the project and it was in trio that Kampfar released Mare in 2011, Jon having taken care of the guitar. Ole Hartvigsen was recruited for guitar and keyboards in 2011. The band spends a little time before coming back stronger and sign at Indie Recordings, which publishes Djevelmakt in 2014 and Profan in 2015. Ofidians Manifest , Kampfar's last effort was released in 2019.
