Karst's debut dates back to Damad's split in 2001. While Brian Duke, Christian Depken and Philip Cope set out to found Kylesa, Victoria Scalisi, the singer, joins Scott Cooper (ex-Antischism, Damad), to return to the adventure under Karst's surname. Also composed of guitarists Cullen and David, as well as bassist Matt (Unpersons ), the Georgian band recorded an ep entitled Receive the Void in 2003 at Hater Of God, followed a year later by the first album Vision of Insane Hope. Since then, Karst has been on stand by. Victoria is dedicated to painting (she has signed all Damad's covers, among others), Cullen and Scott are part of the Savannah Chronicle A/D group.
