Khoma
Biography
Khoma was born in Sweden (in UmeƄ already famous for having been the cradle of bands like Denied , Meshuggah , Cult Of Luna , ...) in 2002, childhood friends the line up is composed of Jan Jamte, Johannes Persson (of Cult Of Luna ) and Fredrik Khilberg the trio with variable geometry according to us offers an ethereal rock sometimes luging towards harsher tones (let's not forget that the universe of Cult Of Luna is not far away) but especially towards a post rock that is not without recalling Sigur Ros . Their first album was released in 2004 (Tsunami , it's not invented, even if the name doesn't come from the tragic event because it was released before), with only 1000 copies very soon expired and therefore republished, the band surprised by the success of its album starts writing its new album without yet being signed. Roadrunner will finally find them, they release The Second Wave , composed of old and new titles remaining in the continuity of their first production. The band performed a series of concerts and gave little sign of life until A Final Storm , early 2010. The trio does not consider Khoma as a real group but rather a project / collective in which they like to meet, each being occupied by its own group (Cult Of Luna, The Perishers, The Doores); live the line up is also changing (there is no line up fixed, hence the "collective" side to see family of the group). Another feature of the group is its political commitment; The topics covered are numerous and, according to our century-old pattern, will be "left": feminism, anarchism, environment, ...
