Biography

King 810, originally known as King, formed in Flint, Michigan in 2007 by Andrew Workman (Batterie), Eugene Gill (Basse), Jason Hale (Guitare), Andrew Beal (Guitare) and David Gunn (Chant). They signed in 2008 with Equal Vision Records in order to record a record in 2009, released a few demos on their myspace, but left the label without too many reasons and without leaving the record. Jason Hale left the formation at that time, was replaced by Karl Hoffman (Guitare) and it was also at that time that they added 810 to their surname, which is the Flint area code. In June 2012, Gunn was assaulted when he refused to hand over a bag during a robbery. He was beaten and stabbed, but survived the attack and continued to write what will be King 810's first ep: Midwest Monsters released in 2012 in self-production, but it was in 2014 that the band was noticed by Roadrunner Records. Meanwhile, Karl left the formation, which now continues to four musicians. King 810 then released an ep, Proem, then the album Memoirs Of A Murderer. Making a lot of talk about them for their music that recalls the Neo Metal of the 90s/2000s crossed with a heavy Hardcore, but also for its violent imagery reminiscent of the Gangsta Rap, musicians, sometimes masked, do not hesitate to dress up with guns at their concerts. At the end of 2014, they toured with Slipknot and Korn and planned to tour European festivals in June 2015 by participating in events such as the Download Festival and the Rock Am Ring, but they had to cancel their participation due to unforeseen problems in their hometown. It is in this time that they release a mixtape entitled Midwest Monsters 2 . It was in January 2016 that King 810 recorded a new song, We Gotta Help Ourselves and unveiled in July the release of La Petite Mort Or A Conversation With God with the single I Ain't Goin Back Again . The album appeared in September at Roadbrunner Records, followed by an acoustic ep, Queen, in December 2017. In spring 2018, the band opened for Emmure during their Natural Born Killers tour, with Counterparts and Varials. King 810 was also supposed to open for Cane Hill, but they gave up the tour later announcing that Andrew Beal and Andrew Workman were no longer part of the band. While David Gunn and Eugene Gill (who took over the guitar and drums) wrote a third album for King 810, Gunn launched a solo rap project called Yavid, releasing his first album Black Teeth Devil, Vol. 1 in July 2018. King 810 returns in January 2019 with the suicide King album. It is the first album to be released independently after having discreetly separated from Roadrunner Records in 2018 and in 2020 the duo presents the cover with Ak Concerto No. 47, 11th Movement In G Major, their fourth album. In 2021, Tim Lucier came to the position of guitarist, King 810 becoming a trio and they released the ep Follow My Tears in January 2023 in self-production.
