Biography

It was in the late 1960s, in the midst of a boom of British progressive rock bands, that the purple king was crowned. The album In the Court of the Crimson King , and its recognizable cover among all, is published and will lay a cornerstone of experimental rock from all walks of life. At the centre of the formation, true king in his castle: Robert Fripp, gifted guitarist and sound experimenter. Accompanied by such talented musicians as Greg Lake, Bill Bruford and Michael Giles, the band will be released from flagship albums such as Lizard or Lark However, it seems that Fripp and his peers cannot remain inactive, and in 1981 the band reformed and created new recruits with Adrian Belew, for new albums, and new musical turns, the most notable of which were Discipline (1981) and Thrak (1995). If they gave the impression of running out of breath after The ConstructKction of Light in 2000, which did not receive the expected success, the various members gave themselves to many side project, with always the same will: play the music of King Crimson. This is the goal that Adrian Belew and Tony Levin set between 2011 and 2014, with musicians selected to continue playing the band's flagship songs, whether or not they are composed. They will be reunited in 2015 in concert for world tours, and a radical success with Robert Fripp, Mel Collins, Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel , John Lennon , Liquid Tension Experiment ), Pat Mastelotto (Mr Mister, Stick Men), Gavin Harrison ( Porcupine Tree ), Jakko Jakszyk, Bill Rieflin (Ministry , Nine inch Nails , Swans ) and Jeremy Stacey (with Steven Wilson , Joe Cocker or Patrcia Kaas ).
