Biography

Kingdom Of Sorrow's roots date back a little over ten years ago when James Jasta, then singer of a small band called Hatebreed, was introduced to Kirk Windstein at a show in Northampton. Soon after, the two meet at a concert by Napalm Death and Crowbar organized by the same Jasta. Hatebreed invited Crowbar for an English tour in March 2005. It was then that the ties between Jasta and Windstein became stronger and the formation of Kingdom Of Sorrow was decided. The duo entered the Silver Bullet studio in May 2005 to perform the first shots of Buried In Black, present on the compilation MTV2 Headbangers Ball: The Revenge. Even though writing is going well, opportunities to get back together are rare due to overbooked schedules. Finally ready, towards the end of 2007 Kingdom Of Sorrow signs a deal with Relapse Records. The duo is surrounded by Steve Gibb (Black Label Society), drummer Derek Kerswell (Seemless) and bassist Matthew Brunson. The first eponymous album was released in 2008. Two years later, the band recidivated with Behind The Blackest Tears.
