Kinski
Biography
Kinski's biography begins with a coincidence: the meeting of two clients and a bartender who accidentally heard their conversation in 1998. That same year, the trio of Chris Martin (guitar), Lucy Atkinson (bass) and Dave Weeks (battery) began playing together. The following year they recruited a fourth larron in Matthew Reid Schwartz's guitar and keyboard. Their first two albums allow them to make a small notoriety, notably by starting with Acid Mothers Temple and signing with Sub Pop. Originally from Seattle, Kinski shares the same spirit as the local scene of the 1990s; Nirvana , Mudhoney and Hovercraft are in bulk, among others. Well, fuzz guitars, you want some, and a psychedelic and tortuous rock intoxicating. Their sixth album, Alpine Static , in 2005 opened the doors to Europe. Down Below It's Chaos, two years later, still at Sub Pop, leads them to play in the opening of Tool, during the 10,000 Days tour. Productive in the first half of 2000, the group became more discreet after 2007. He only emerged from his silence in 2013 with Cosy Moments released via Kill Rock Stars (Deerhoof , The Thermals , Xiu Xiu and ex-house of Unwound ).
