Biography

La Phaze formed in Angers in 1999 on the initiative of Dammy Baluteau and Arnaud Fournier, quickly joined by DJ Mouf. The trio gives in the Pungle, the term they invented to designate their music, a mix between Punk and Jungle. Summarizing La Phaze's music to these two genres would be far too simplistic as the band picks up in all genres, from Free Jazz to Reggae to various styles Electro: Dub, Drum n Bass... One of the major assets of La Phaz is its particularly subtle and virulent texts, which are very committed. The group does not hesitate to say what it thinks about society and does not go four ways to make it known. After a few demos, La Phaze released Pungle Roads in 2002. The record is so well received that a remix made by great names of the Electro is released the following year, Punglistic Mixture. In 2005 La Phaze released its second album, Fin De Cycle , and traveled France by chaining concerts, trying at the same time to get people to react to certain societal problems, "so that cathodic, media and economics no longer laugh with methodical ". La Phaze continues to tour the world in an energetic manner and returns in 2008 with its third album, Miracle and Psalms And Revolution. The trio split after a last concert on December 15, 2012.
