Le Loup

The Wolf is a collective based in Washington, DC, created under the impetus of Sam Simkoff , late 2006. The first album appeared in 2007. The Throne of The Third Heaven of The Nations' title Millennium General Assembly , reveals the ambition of a band that has no other claim than to come together and make music together and then share it with as many people as possible.
Assimilated to the freak folk scene, Le Loup has sounds similar to those of Animal Collective , Arcade Fire or Sufjan Stevens . Family (2009) is the second production of the collective, almost against its predecessor. A return to simplicity (after the use of keyboards and mutliples sound effects on The Throne of ...) for an album that was recorded in a cellar, far from any means of communication, in live conditions in order to capture its immediate essence through folk and mid-tempo compositions, coated with minimalist production to give a more natural shade to the compositions.
