Biography
David Lehnberg : Guitar/Chant Joakim Eriksson : Gunnar Forsman Guitar : Anders Gustavsson Battery : Bass
Be careful not to fly over the line-up. The latter barely sums up in a line what Leiah is, namely the 'principal' project (at the time) of David Lehnberg ( Ariel Kill Him , Ikaros ). The Swedish combo is thus formed mid-'98 in Gävle in Sweden, from the desire of four guys tired of playing a basic harpoon, and decided to breathe more sincerity into their music. First signed in 1999 with the Belgian label Genet Records, and first released with the EP Mood Shifting Tones. Warm welcome that allows them to enjoy the Get Up Kids and Hot Water Music on stage. Back to the bercail, in 2000 Leiah recorded his first full-length, The Tigra Songs , still published on the same label, like their second opus: Progress Surrounded By Seasons (2001). Previously, the Scandinavians incorporated a new member, Gunnar, who shared the same desires; Then followed six weeks of tour with Grade , As Friends Rust and At The Drive-In , before Sofie left the band. Despite the problems encountered (line up, budget, health, etc.) Progress Surrounded By Seasons will see the light, recorded in only seven days, and to three.
Finally, the band will sign in 2002 on Background Beat ( Revolvo , Starmarket ), sub-division of Startracks ( The Lost Patrol , Tiger Lou ,...) and will enter the studio with Pelle Gunnerfeldt ( Fireside , Denied , Logh , The (International) Noise Conspiracy ) and Johan Gustafsson ( Randy , Division of Laura Lee , The Robotop Kraus ) to put into box the third and final part of this epic : Sound and Diversity .
