Less Than Jake

1992, Gainesville, Florida. Less Than Jake started as a trio pop punk Vinnie (battery), Roger (song/bass) and Chris (chant/guitar) and then joined a brass section 6 months later. The many rehearsals led to the first album Losers, Kings&Things We Don't Understand in 1994 on No Idea Records. Then Pezcore in 1995 on Asian Man Records before signing on Major Capitol/EMI to release Losing Streak and Hello Rockview , and even allows itself to constitute an album of covers of the comedy Grease.
Since the mid-1990s, Less Than Jake has enjoyed an unparalleled reputation in the field of modern ska/punk. It is in this context that they sign with the label Fat Wreck Chords to release Borders & Boundaries in 2000. However, the band has always wanted to maintain great independence and continues to release many CD and vinyl albums on many different labels, big or small. At the end of 2002, the 5 guys from Gainesville have more than 100 editions of all kinds (cd, vinyl, 7", splits, promo...)
The Fat Wreck getaway was short since the next full length album, Anthem , was released at Warner Bros/Sire Records (recorded by Rob Cavallo). A return to a major who accompanies his lot of disappointments at many fans who wonder where the ska went in Less Than Jake (the singles of the album will present versions on which the coppers were removed). Roger founded Rehasher , a melodic and fast punk rock band in which he sings, then releases the collection of rarity, unreleased, b-sides... B is For B-sides , while Vinnie's label, Fueled By Ramen , is expanding and will have huge success (Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco...) in the previous quarters the release of the new LTJ, In With the Out Crowd , on May 23, 2006. Rob Cavallo gives way to the famous Howard Benson ( Motörhead , My Chemical Romance , Sepultura , Hoobastank etc) behind the handles for this opus.
