Trained in August 2006 in Tallahassee, Florida, Lipona immediately has a clear idea of their musical direction. So they collect the necessary funds by turning a little record the summer following their first EP Urbi and Orbi, which they will distribute freely on their Myspace page. The critics are positive and the quartet embarks on a pair of mini tours of the east coast.
Still without a label, Lipona released her first album at the draw' around a growing buzz. Atlas's first DIY press (April '08) will be exhausted after a few months and in October of the same year, a second version is distributed more widely. The Floridians nevertheless want to maintain complete control over their creations and thus carry out their next EP, Pigeonholed , from A to Z. The whole will be mixed by Mark Michalik (The Swellers , Much the Same ) and will be distributed freely as early as March '09. Lipona then joined forces with BearTrap's indie prom agency and the Japanese label Milestone Sounds.
While preparing their second full album, they released in August '09 a CD version of the EP, which will no longer be distributed online from mid-September.
