Lite
Biography
The Post-Rock enjoyed its first successes as Lite formed in 2003 in Tokyo around an instrumental concept that the quartet evolved by playing in the streets and in the Tokyo halls. Nobuyuki Takeda (Guitare), Kozo Kusumoto (Guitare), Jun Izawa (Basse) and Akinori Yamamoto (Batterie) released their demos in 2004 and were then noticed by NMNL Records (Division of Tower Records) which released the band's first eponymous album in July 2005, followed by a national tour.
The band then focused more seriously on its career and released its first long-term album, Filmlets in May 2006. The success of the Nippons made waves and reached the UK as Transduction Records decided to sign the combo and release a European version of the first ep, then of the album. To promote them, Lite made the trip and came to play two weeks in the UK and Ireland in September. After a few weeks of rest, the four musicians go back on tour and even perform at the prestigious Fuji Rock in summer 2007. As a result, a second tour of the British islands was made and a split with Funanori appeared at Transduction for Europe, as well as a live album for Japan.
They are still active for a second full opus entitled Phantasia and released in May 2008 at Daizawa Records in Japan and at the end of June at Transduction pour l'Europe, which will bring them in the fall for a new UK tour. One new ep, Turns Red, was very quickly in the pipes the following year, followed by another, Illumniate, in 2010. Nothing seems to be able to stop the Japanese who chain with For All The Innocence, their third opus, in 2011. Their fourth effort, Installation , was released in June 2013.
