Loop
Biography
Trained in 1986 on the initiative of Robert Hampson and his wife, LoOp has had a career as short as it is intensely completed in 1991. These five years will see the lineup evolve regularly and finally stabilize only late in the life of the group always led by Hampson, the only permanent member of the adventure. The three - then four - English will have some success as evidenced by the ranking of several of their singles in the indie charts of the time, well relayed by the unbeatable John Peel and his legendary flair. We have since furtively crossed Hampson at Godflesh's before he founded Main with Scot Dowson (ex-LoOp), and then went solo still under the same name. Various members who have participated in the group over the years have been the originators of groups such as The Hair&Skin Trading Company or Lumen . LoOp reformed in 2013 around its latest lineup known at the ATP Festival before embarking on North American and European tours. Once again on the brink of extinction following the departure of his partners after a few months, Robert Hampson will nevertheless take the decision to restore a chance to his project and continues the adventure supported notably by Wayne Maskell and Hugo Morgan, both escaped from The Heads. This new configuration led in July 2015 to the release of Array 1 , LoOp's first release in 25 years.
