Lordi

Lordi began his activities in 1992, and Mr Lordi, the group's leader, recorded his first demo. Founder of the Kiss Army finalandaise, Mr.Lordi will find in his members the future musicians of his band. After a Kiss concert in 1996 he decided to make his demos and create Lordi . He then started writing the band's titles while creating latex costumes and pyrotechnic effects for the band's shows (Mr.Lordi is a fashion designer). The group's visual points to them and in 2002 the band signed its first contract from which Get Heavy managed to enter the Finn charts (in particular with its Would You Love A Monsterman?). After a few line-up changes, the band released its second album in 2004 (The Monsterican Dream ) which managed to reach the top 20 in Finland thanks to Blood Red Sandman . After further membership changes, the band released The Arockalypse in 2005, compiling the first two albums, intended for the non-Finnish and German-speaking market. 2006 will be a big year for Lordi , in fact they are chosen by Finland to represent the country at Eurovision. The band will have a lot of talk about him in this contest of the song somewhat kitsch, criticized by religious from different countries accusing the band of satanism (note that one of their 2003 song is called The Devil Is A Loser). Despite its critics, the team won the Eurovision with 292 points, the highest score ever. In France, Michel Drucker and Claudy Siar honour contemporary television with phrases such as "Finland has never won Eurovision. That's not how they win. "Get the kids out of the station, they'll have nightmares. I didn't imagine the Lapkins like that. They will be at the Vincennes Zoo at the beginning of the year". The band then surfed on the wave, on its return to Finland the band gave a concert in Helsinki in front of 80,000 people and was given the keys to the city by Finnish president Tarja Halonen. From the group, like their idol Kiss , multiplies derivatives (credit card, cola in group color...) and runs in Europe in rooms they would certainly never have been able to fill before.
