Lycus
Biography
Lycus is a band from Funeral Doom Metal founded in Oakland, USA in 2008 by Bret Tardiff (Basse / Chant), Trevor Deschryver (Battery / Chant - ex-Deafheaven), Jackson Heath (Guitare / Chant). The trio remains in operation for only one year and separates in 2009. Trevor and Jackson nevertheless reactivate Lycus in 2011 by recruiting Stephen to bass, as well as Gary to guitar with whom they immediately released a demo at Graceless Recordings. She started talking about the band and was reissued in 2012 by Flenser Recordings. Erika Osterhout remains for only one year as a bass player to replace Stephen, while Daniel arrives at the end of 2012. Similarly, Gray left the band first replaced by Clayton in 2012, then Dylan Burton in 2013. Lycus finally gave birth to his first album, Tempest , in 2013 via 20 Buck Spin. The group increases its reputation but its line-up remains fragile. In 2014, Bret Tardiff returned to Lycus on bass and Jonathan Nicosia replaced Dylan on guitar. It was under this new formation that the Americans recorded Chasms, which was released in early 2016 at Relapse Records.
