Biography

Mad Season is an alternative rock band intimately linked to the movement and the grunge era, as well as the Seatlle scene of the 1990s. Impulsed by Mike McCready ( Pearl Jam) and John Baker Saunders after a meeting in the detoxification center, the band will soon be joined by Layne Staley (Alice In Chains) and Mark Lanegan and Barret Martin (Screaming Trees). A moving album whose main theme is the debunking, feelings and disillusionments of an abyssed generation, tragically linked by the use of drugs of all kinds, Above is above all a poignant testimony of an era, staged by five of the greatest musicians of the Seattle grunge scene, originally gathered for a succession of jam sessions, which will quickly give an album. No sequel will ever see the light of day, both Staley and Saunders having died a few years later, although McCready has already announced that there are still titles never released to date, even on the deluxe edition (including a live recording of the band) of the album released in 2013. Recently, McCready and Martin announced that they were thinking strongly about giving the band a second life, and were looking for a voice to replace the irreplaceable Layne. Several charity concerts are planned in the United States for January 2015. Line up: Layne Staley: singing, guitar Mike McCready: guitar John Baker Saunders: bass Barret Martin: drums Mark Lanegan: singing
