Biography

Johanna Wedin : Song/Piano
Mai is first and foremost Johanna Wedin's solo project. The young lady, born in northern Sweden, has always been rocked by music, whether blues, jazz or pop; a mix that brings her to singing and piano learning. Of course, as a teenager, she also plunges into the local rock and punk scene. Then it's time to take off and see her leave her native country for France first, and more specifically Paris, before joining the United States and New York where she studies Music and Art History. Back in the French capital, his meeting with Doriant Dumont, member of The Teenagers, but also editor-in-chief of the Liability web magazine, led them to a regular collaboration within May.
Discovery 2004 of the compilation CQFD edited by Les Inrockuptibles, Mai is signed on Nacopajaz Records ( Hurtmold , Fedaden , ...) which therefore publishes in June 2007 the first album by Johanna, Still Need A Kiss (distribution Discograph ). Note that "In fact", one of the tracks of the album, also appears in the tracklisting of the 2005 edition of the same compilation. Finally, on the stage side, Mai was able to open for such formations as Okkervil River, Justice, Grizzly Bear or Troy Von Balthazar ( Chokebore).
