Mammatus

In reference to the largest cloud recorded by scientists to date on our planet, Mammatus was formed in Corralitos, California in early 2005. With Nicholas (guitar/song), Chris (bass), Mike (guitar), and Aaron (battery), the band did not waste time and was already performing its first concert in March of the same year. They locked up a few weeks later in their garage, armed only with their own computer, to record the four tracks that will constitute their first album. The result excited the San Francisco Holy Mountain label (founded by the ex-Sleep and current OM Al Cisneros and Chris Hakius) who soon signed the California quartet. It was finally in March 2006 that this Mammatus , whose artwork was entrusted for the occasion to Arik Roper (pochettes of Blessed Black Wings of High On Fire , Amerijuanican of Bongzilla , Jerusalem / Sleep Dopesmoker , or posters for EyeHategod among others).
