Mary Slut
Biography
Formed in 1999, Mary Slut officiates in a merger that could be described as "emotional". With poetic texts in French, the group manages to reach a small and demanding audience. Mary Slut claims her many influences, indeed the transition from a resolutely rock sound to a more metal trend into a title is not uncommon. Take a few tribal rhythms, a rock zest, add to this acoustic passages, sometimes reinforced by a soft melody on the piano, giving the music a very "nature" side, all of which embellished with a calm and gliding voice, which sometimes hardens during the more punchy passages, and you will get a fusion Mary Slut way. A member of the antistatic collective, Mary Slut could be the result of a mixture between Pyskup , for the very metal side, Leiden , for its cold side, and Agora Fidelio , for the catchy voice and rock sound. Another feature that allows the group to stand out is the very rough side of some compositions such as "The Windmills" or "Qu'un part du ciel", which are reminiscent of groups such as Tri(balls) or Karma Sutra. Thanks to its originality and its particular intensity, the band makes a name within the French scene, but remains quite unknown to the public. After an eponymous first demo released in 2000, the band recorded in 2002, in the local of Antistatic, Spiralisation , a max 4 tracks self-produced. With a signature at JERKOV in 2004, follows the release of Regards de la terre, an album 7 title.
The recording of the next album is now scheduled for January 2006, with Fred Norguet (Sidilarsen , Ez3kiel , Sleepers , Lofofora ).
