Biography
Coley Dennis : Matthew Cherry guitar : Steve Scarborough guitar : Jerry Fuchs bass : drums
Maserati emerged from Athens, Georgia (USA) in 2000 when Coley Dennis, Matthew Cherry, Steven Scarborough and Phillip Horan met for the first time to jamm and form a band. They do not feel the need to have sung parts and therefore continue to play so-called instrumental music. Their first self-produced album, 37:29:24 , released the same year before the band signed at the local Kindercore Records label (of Montreal , Japancakes etc) and released The Language Of Cities in '02 and the Split EP with The Mercury Program: Confines Of Heat ('03).
In November '03, Kindercore went bankrupt and Maserati found himself without a label. Hello Sir Records , another Athens label, then proposed and from this agreement was born a 7" composed of two songs from the recording sessions of Confines Of Heat , a reissue of the same split, another of The Language of Cities , then a 3-way split EP with 2 other combos of the label: Cinemechanica and We Versus The Shark ('04). It was then that Matt Cherry and Phil Horan decided to leave the band, which, together with provisional members, toured the United States with The Mercury Program and The Appleseed Cast, and then went to Japan with Mono before spending 3 weeks on European roads. After a short period of hiatus...
In the spring of 2005, the 3 founding members Matt Cherry, Steve Scarborough and Coley Dennis met and began to compose new titles, without a drummer. They don't take long to convince Jerry Fuchs, a former friend, to join them to prepare an opus. In August '06, they launched a new website from A to Z and announced that their next album, Inventions for the New Season, is ready and will be released in Europe via the very young Golden Antenna Records label and in Australia thanks to Sugar Rush Records. The good news follows since Temporary Residence Ltd agrees to release the cake in the United States and some concerts are booked.
In early 2007 they worked on new compositions and prepared to invade Europe with Ostinato from 20 March. Inventions for the New Season will be available in April.
