Matt Elliott
Biography
In 2000, Matt Elliott released Little Lost Soul, his latest album under the name of The Third Eye Foundation. After the electronic meanderings, this album already suggests a greater use of voices, choirs and more "classical" instruments. With his fascination with the minor tones of Russian orthodox music, Elliott released The Mess We Made in 2003, under his own name, the last bridge between his work as a 3EF and his new songs. If one finds the darkness proper to his works, it is here induced by haunted and melancholic folk instrumentation and vocals on the breach. Brick by the way blissful on Drinking Songs where the melodies make more think of a Beirut who would have gone badly after a depression under vodka. The East Trilogy will end in 2006 with Failing Songs where Elliott explores the themes of loneliness and frustration.
