Maximum Penalty formed in New York in the mid-1980s at the instigation of Jim Williams. For three years, the band recorded three demos, the last of which was engraved on vynil by the label Astor Records. It is not until 1994 that the first ep, East Side Story, is born. From then on, everything goes on. Maximum Penalty recorded his first album Independent a year later, followed by Superlife in 1996. After the release of the latter, Rich MacLoughlin ( Killing Time , Breakdown , Ironbound NYC ), veteran of the hardcore scene, joined the band for an important tour across the States and Europe. His arrival also allows Maximum Penalty to experiment with new musical directions concretized on Uncle Sham , released in 2001 at I Scream Records. After a five-year hiatus, New Yorkers returned to life in 2006.
