Melissa Auf Der Maur
Biography
Bassist for 5 years of Hole, then bassist of Smashing Pumpkins on their farewell tour, Melissa Auf Der Maur was noticed by the general public in France in 2002 alongside Indochina. That same year, she will participate in Hand of Doom , a tribute band to Black Sabbath who will play a handful of concerts and release a live album. In 2004 Melissa decided to embark on a solo career: supported by members of Queens Of The Stone Age, she recorded her compositions over the past 10 years in a rock / stoner vein. The result is soberly called Auf der Maur and conquers with a relative ease the rock waves. The Canadian is going to be discreet as a result of this album and, although mentioned in 2007, the second album is still waiting. Melissa Auf Der Maur finally lets filter three new titles gathered on an EP titled This Would be Paradise but Out of Our Minds , a multimedia project accompanied by a comic book and a short film (presented in January 2009 at the Sundance festival) is waiting. The year 2010 is the year of release since Out of Our Minds seems to end March at Roadrunner Records.
