Meshuggah
Biography
Probably because there is not much to do there, UmeƄ, a small Swedish town would be the cradle of many quality combos. Meshuggah is certainly the one of them who has gained the greatest reputation. Formed in 1987, the members of the group stopped taking their time to achieve their goals, so much so that they most certainly form one of the only current groups that has continued to progress over such a long period. Improving their technique and their vision of music constantly, using their patience and proving their perseverance, the group finds itself today in the very closed circle of cult formations, with genesis without fioritures and the undeniable influence on the scene. Imposing a unique personality upon the arrival of a stable line up (1991), the band's music sounds like no other, on the one hand thanks to the technical maestria of each of the instrumentalists, and on the other hand through the unique sound released from each of the combo's discs. Starting from a rather classical 80-s thrash, the band quickly evolved by integrating incomprehensible polyrhythms and megalos riffs, giving an elitist appearance to their music, and developing this famous glacial and austere integrity. Although the formation gives rise to undeniable power and live mastery, the mark of his talent comes from his ability to compose masterpieces of modern metal, renewing himself while keeping his temperament. These include the albums Destroy Erase Improve , Chaosphere , and Nothing , real cornerstones that directly influenced many groups from all walks of life.
