Biography

Metallica, how to make a short bio of Metallica? Certainly one of the most popular metal groups, for over 20 years. The adventure started in 1981 with Lars Ulrich (drummer) who set up a band to record a song for a compilation, he was joined by James Hetfield (song), Ron Mc Govney (bass), and Dave Mustaine (solo guitar, which he later saw in Megadeth). Some changes in line up later (Cliff Burton took bass and Kirk Hammett took place in Mustaine). The band was released in 1983 and began to tour and climb to the rock pantheon. With Master Of Puppets (1987) the band signs what remains for many their best album, but during this tour Cliff Burton dies in a bus accident; However, Jason Newsted (ex Flotsam and Jetsam) decided to continue. In 1991 Metallica started a turning point with the eponymous album (or Black Album) which remains the most sold metallica album to date (over 13 million sales in the USA). In 1996 the group continued its change with Load then Reload . In 1998 the band released a double cover album: Garage Inc. After a live performance with the San Fransisco Symphony Orchestra Jason Newsted left Metallica in 2001, Robert Trujillo (ex-Suicidal Tendencies, Ozzy Osbourne, ...) took up the position of bassist and the band was released in 2003 St. Anger , a very controversial album because of his rather vile drum sound. Metallica does not stay there and releases a DVD behind the scenes of St. Anger , explaining in large part the important change that took place on this album. The quartet continues to follow the concerts until the release of Death Magnetic in 2008, followed by a series of DVDs tracing their live performances all over the world (France, Mexico, Big Four tour with Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer, ...) and a Guitar Hero game dedicated to them. Metallica will continue to give big concerts all over the world for several years and will participate in the project Through the Never, whose story tells the story of Trip which is sent to recover a mysterious object that it must absolutely bring back for the show that the Mets must give. In 2011 comes the time of a collaboration with the great Lou Reed. An album is born, the famous Lulu, which we still don't know if it's an ununderstood work or simply a dabe. Metallica will make its big comeback at the end of 2016 with the release of a double album: Hardwired... to Self Destruct .
