Millencolin
Biography
Millencolin formed in October 1992 with Erik, Mathias and Nikola in Örebro,Sweden. The name of the skater group comes from the Melancholy air skate trick. Larzon joined the band and moved to the battery in 1993, just after the first K7demo Goofy was released. In the summer of 1993, a second K7 demo was produced. This demo marks the beginning of Millencolin's collaboration with Dan Swano (ex-singer of death metal band Edge Of Sanity) as a producer. From there everything goes on: the band is noticed by a brand new Swedish label: Burning Heart Records released 2 mini cds Use your nose in November 93 and Skauch in April 94. MC's first album, Tiny toons, was released in August 94 and made known the band in Sweden. The album will be worth Burning Heart a trial with Warner Bros in 95 because of the cover and the title too eloquent. The cover is therefore changed and the title becomes Same old tunes. During the year 94, MC toured all over Sweden... more than 100 concerts! In 95, new album for Swedish: Life on flat. The band became popular in Sweden and began its European tours, thus voluntarily escaping the fashion phenomenon that was created around them in their native country. They are noticed by Brett Gurewit (ex Bad religion and patron of Epitath) who reissues Life on flat (but the band remains on Burning Heart though). The album comes out at the beginning of 96 and the 4 boys start a world tour. For monkeys, the third album, was released in April 97 and was accompanied by a tour of more than 1 year (May 97-August 98) with nearly 200 concerts! Exhausted, members decide to take rest with their families and friends... They still release a K7 video Millencolin&the Hi-8 adventures that includes clips, live, backstage, skate... and a cd The melancholy collection including the rarity and B-sides of the band's singles (22 tracks). In 99, MC ki resumed all its energy is contacted again by Brett to produce their next record this time. Bad Religion's fan band accepts and leaves for Hollywood marking the provisional end of the band's recordings at the Unisound studio. Pennybridge pionners (which means "Orebro's pioners") was released in February 2000, followed by a world tour (as well as 2 quality clips). To date, Millencolin has more than 600 concerts on the 5 continents... 2002 sees the arrival of the fifth opus: Home From Home
