Modest Mouse

Modest Mouse

Country: Portland
Formed: 1993
Styles: Indie Rock

Biography

Taking its name from a novel by Virginia Woolf, Modest Mouse formed in 1993 under the impulse of guitarist/vocalist Isaac Brock. The band released a first EP (Blue Cadet-3, Do You Connect?) in 1994 and its first long format in 1996. Modest Mouse's indie sound, however, gravens his nobility letters with The Lonesome Crowded West in 1997 and The Moon And Antarctica in 2000.
The style of Modest Mouse, which reveals a real fragility, round bass and cold melodies, sets out and evolves into a more pop and playful dynamic when their bestseller is released, Good News for People Who Love bad News (2004) and nominated for the Grammy for the best alternative rock album. A public success confirmed by We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank in 2007.
Despite a fluctuating line-up, Modest Mouse was found in 2009 as follows: Isaac Brock (voice, guitar), Eric Judy (bass), Johnny Marr (ex-The Smiths, guitar), Tom Peloso (guitar), Jeremiah Green (drums), Joe Plummer (The Shins, drums).
