Biography

What is surprising is to learn that Molasses comes straight from Canada, even less strangely from Montreal. I don't teach you anything: there's like Godspeed You! Black Emperor in this story. Indeed, Molasses is led by composer Scott Chernoff, who is found on projects parallel to GYBE such as Hrsta or Empty House Cooperative; which was surrounded for the occasion by members of the Shalabi Effect , Set Fire to Flames , Codeine , Come , Boxhead Ensemble , The Bonnie Prince Billy Band et bienûr de GYBE (Thierry Amar, Norsola Johnson and Mike Moya). This being the case, we understand without problem that Molasses can afford a substantial instrumental richness with guitars, banjos, organs, piano, double bass, cellos, violins, drums, accordion, harmonica,... Group having already crossed the Atlantic for some time, their third album A Slow Messe was ranked among the fifty best albums of 2003 by Les Inrockuptibles.
