Monkey3

Born in January 2000 in Lausanne, Monkey3 is a band whose music, evolving between psychedelic and post-rock sounds, has the particularity of being exclusively instrumental. After recording a first demo in 2001, Boris (guitar), Picasso (bass), Walter (battery) and the enigmatic Mister M. (keyboard, programming) confidentially released their first album in March 2003 (digipack, limited to 1000 copies). Following this production, Monkey3 signed the band's eponymous album with the Belgian label Buzzville Records (Belgian stoner/rock-oriented label) in June 2004 to broadcast more massively the music of the Swiss trio, especially in France (where the album is distributed by Longfellow Deeds Records). This is followed by a European tour that will give the band the opportunity to make a common scene with bands such as Alabama Thunderpussy , Mono , Honcho , Colour Haze or even Sparzanza and build a solid reputation (especially thanks to their visual universe). Based on the experience gained, Monkey3 released 69 Laps in December 2006, a second album that pushes even further the boundaries of their "psycostoner".
