Before it was born in '96, Monochrome was preceded by another band, Dawnbreed , created in '94 and combining hardcore, pop, rock and noise. Two albums, and six singles will be released between this year '94 and 2000. The arrival of a singer and a saxophonist led to the creation of a collective, Dawnbreed / Monochrome , allowing the band members to broaden their musical horizons. 1999 marks the release of Monochrome's first full-length: Laser . The departure of their drummer in 2000, for medical reasons, forces them to permanently stop the Dawnbreed adventure. Despite this, Monochrome enters a period of "statu-quo" during which they only come out of short formats, not really having time to compose new titles because of frequent changes in line-up. Disseminated between Berlin, Stuttgart and Basel, the musicians managed to publish a second full-length, Eclat , published in France by Paranoid Records (ADIBAW , Amanda Woodward , ...) under the Stickman Records license ( The Wedding Present , Favez , ..). They continued with a tour in France, Spain, Belgium and Germany in February 2006, and it was Kathrin who finally took over from Liza Von Billerbeck in singing, the two Berliners having nevertheless participated in the recording of Eclat .
