Mors Principium Est
Biography
Mors Principium Born in 1999 in Pori, Finland, under the leadership of Jori Haukio (Chant / Guitar), Jarkko Kokko (Guitare) and Toni (Claviers), Mikko Sipola (Battery) soon joined them. In 2000, Jori decided to stop singing to focus on his guitar game, and Ville Viljanen became the band's new singer. The first demo is recorded without bass. Listable Records, the French label, is interested, but wishes the presence of a full-time bass player. Teemu Heinola joined the band. Two more demos were released in 2001 and 2002, following which Listable Records signed the band for three albums. The first Inhumanity was recorded and mixed by Ahti Kortelainen, at Tico-Tico studios, mastered at Finnvox and finally released in spring 2003. The second sees a change of keyboardist (Joona Kukkola now holds this position), the appearance of female voices brings a big more than his predecessor. Then Liberation = Completion comes out in 2007. Their music is a Death Metal Melodic speed directly inspired by Dark Tranquility , In Flames and Silkwork , a style to which he gives a new breath thanks to his complex compositions and original cybernetic atmospheres. Nevertheless, the combo undergoes a large empty passage after the release of Liberation = Termination after a musical ascent which places them as a reference group in the genre. Jori Haukio, Joona Kukkola and Jarkko Kokko left the band in 2006, 2007 and 2009 respectively. A guitarist waltz follows: Tomy Laisto remained in the band between 2007 and 2011, Karri Kuisma only one year in 2007, Tom Gardiner also in 2008 and Kalle Aaltonen remained two years but left the combo in 2011. City, Mikko and Teemu finally find two new guitarists who will stay a little longer, including Andy Gillion and Andhe Chandler. While one thought the formation dead and buried, ...And Death Said Live, fourth opus of Mors Principium East sees the group reborn from its ashes and continues in line with what it proposed a decade earlier. With a signature at Afm Records, the band was involved with Dawn Of The 5th Era in 2014, where Kevin Verlay replaced Andhe Chandler as second guitar. Embers Of A Dying World is composed of four musicians where only Andy remains on guitar and the album is still released in 2017 at Afm Records. Unfortunately in 2017, then in 2020, Mikko Sipola who had been on the battery since 1999 and Teemu Heinola who had been on the bass since 2001 leave Mors Principium Est leaving the Swedish without rhythmic support. Since 2020, Mors Principium Est is therefore a duo made up of Ville Viljanen (Chant) and Andy Gillion (Guitare / Claviers). They release the album Seven at the end of 2020 and it is Marko Tommila who is busy with the drum parts for the album.
