Biography
90s, Minneapolis, high school years, a strong adoration for Sunny Day Real Estate, Jawbox and The Faming Lips, buddies and instruments. The way out? The formation of a group in 1999. At the base, a simple duo between Justin Pierre and Joshua Cain, duo becoming quartet by embarking on the adventure 2 other musicians in the year. At the end, a large-scale collaboration, since Ed Rose ( The Get Up Kids, Ulitmate Facebook) is entrusted with production. But three weeks before placing the first notes in the computer, he proposes to bring Jessie Johnson, former collaborator of Jimmy Eat World and renowned keyboardist. Well, he takes it, because the synthetic keyboard will become the make of the combo. The new line-up in place, the emopop/punk training started to implement I Am Movie during the summer of 2003. Things are starting to take shape. MTC is invited to shoot with Blink 182 and sign at Epitaph . It's precisely Mark Hoppus, the bassist of Blink, who settles in to create the following album: Commit This To Memory (2005). A Delux version accompanied by a DVD bonus will follow in 2006 while the quintet sees its name on the poster of the famous Warped Tour. With all these experiences, the natives of Minneapolis returned to the studio in 2007 and set up: Even If It Kills Me , a history of confirming an essential group place in the American emopop landscape.
