Founded in Annemasse, in 1996 around Serge, Rascal and Nico (bass, drums, guitar), all from former local bands, the band composes its first songs with influences Ramones / Sheriff / Thugs and various North American bands 80 Samir is the one behind the microphone at the beginning of 1997. The latter integrates coppers and the band defines its style as Scoutcore...
During 97/98, several concerts and festivals were held in the region and in neighbouring Switzerland, recording 2 demos (introuvable), and in January 1999 Motocross entered the Rock on studio in Annecy. The group recorded Free Ziffredi , a self-produced EP 7 titles, under the leadership of Jean Cataldo. This recording is also available in vinyl split album with Stéphanois by Bad Taste. It is available on the label Zorlac prod under the name 100% sweating men.
At the end of 99, the wind section was made, Reno (ex-Starsky) joined the band. He arrived in time to set up the second EP Martine & the Ponies (recorded at the Smelly Room Studio in Geneva during the winter of 99/2000). Meanwhile, Motocross signs on the independent label Hannibals Records. The distribution is by Tripschord and Overcome. In the spring of 2000, Motocross continued to run in their region and exported abroad,
During the winter of 2001/2002, Motocross recorded in 3 weeks, still at the Smelly Room in Geneva, Scraching, My Noze (self-production), Hannibals Records and Overcome made the distribution. As the concerts progress, the band members are tired of seeing their singer juggle between microphone, trumpet and other accessories. They then decided to recruit a young winner to the position of trumpeter. Ram is taking the job. The copper section Samir dreamed of is now stable and welded. Now at 7, and a few repeats later, Motocross is back on track. In 2003, the band moved to Germany (turned by Hannibals Records) for about ten dates. At the request of the German tourner, the band returned to the area in 2004, playing in the same places but in disorder, then returning to France for a few dates.
2005 and 2006 are especially reserved for the composition of a new album, during which time Tosh replaces Rascal behind the drums. They joined the Side Records studios to lay the 11 titles of King of the Loose in the bins at the end of the summer.
