Biography

Everything seemed to be said. The Microphones was gone. The second part of the story could begin. Mount Eerie, son of the elements, was born. Phil Elverum locks himself in northern Norway, a complete winter, written, composed, meditated and shared with nature, one of his main themes of inspiration.
Without ever being able to get rid of these links with The Microphones, Elverum first maintains confusion, leaving singles or lives without worrying about their origin. Cathartic album (?), Mount Eerie, Parts 6 & 7, will be released as a final echo at Mount Eerie, last album by The Microphones. The loop is closed. Elverum then created his label, P.W. Elverum & Sun , an artistic creation space for him and his friends, which went beyond the musical framework and which he managed himself, often joining his albums with posters, paintings and other homemade booklets.
Composing to the rhythm of smiles or tears, more than ever animated by a desire to prove that he is alive and motivated by feelings, Mount Eerie makes 2008 a flagship year since the electric Black Wooden Ceiling Opening EP succeeds each other that year; Dawn : A Winter Journal , memory of its solitary winter in Norway and Lost Wisdom , the fruit of a collaboration with Julie Doiron .
