Mourning Dawn

Mourning Dawn is the project of Laurent Chaulet (more known as Pokemonslaughter - Inborn Suffering , Wastes , ex Funeralium ) launched in 2002. Very quickly, the musician who takes care of all the instruments, releases an eponymous demo with a very limited print, but which suffices for the name of the band to start by returning regularly to the French underground. The following year, the one-man-band continued its momentum with Straight To The Past , a second demo that further established its reputation. The Freezing Hand Of Reason pushes the nail a year later, the third demo that reveals the band's particular style and allows it to get a deal with Totalrust Music. In 2005, he became a "real" band with the integration of Vincent Buisson, dit Toxine (Basse - Funeralium , Heol Telwen ), Fabien Longeot (Guitare - Ad Vitam Aeternam ) and Thomas Rugolino (Battery - Inborn Suffering , ex Funeralium ), Mourning Dawn recorded a first eponymous album with also Jean-Baptiste on guitar and Nicolas Tritten on drums and it was released in 2017 two years later by For The Fallen... recorded with the help of Nicolas Joyeux (Ad Vitam Aeternam ) this time behind drums. Laurent, Vincent and Nicolas recorded in 2014, Les Sacrifiés , which appeared at Totalrust Music and Dread Records and in which Fabien was still credited as second guitarist, even though he left the band in 2017. The trio showed itself prolix in 2017 with the ep Waste, a split with Mausoleum and the album The Dead Years which is published on their new label, Pest Productions. Mourning Dawn continued his melancholic trio route and succeeded the years with Dead End Euphoria in 2021 and The Foam Of Despair in 2024.
