Mourningstar
Biography
Formed in the summer of 2002 in Atlanta, Mourningstar immediately started work and recorded an eponymous first EP in September at Ledbelly Sound Studios. In 2003 they opened for Pennywise, Stretch Arm Strong, Mad Caddies, Near Miss, Dogwood, Shai Hulud, Never Heard of It, Burns Out Bright etc. After many passages on extreme sports compils and videos, they returned to the studio in the summer of 2003 to put their first Fireball album in a box with Marc Mclusky at the helm. After discussion, Distrato released on Falsom Records in 2004.
The first national tours are set up and the band is even helped by various Strung Out members. In 2006 they signed with New School Records which released their second album The Antioch in August. Shortly afterwards, their bass player leaves them and they will take several months (of inactivity) to find their happiness in the person of Rob (ex- Top of the Fair). This problem being solved, they can get back to work and organise a new tour in spring/summer 2007, the longest of the band so far.
