From Grand Rapids (Michigan, USA), Mustard Plug started in 1991 under the impetus of Colin and Dave, during the third ska wave. Very soon, they signed with Hopeless Records, which distributes their initial production: Skapocalypse Now. The following year, Big Daddy Multitude for the legendary Moon Ska label won their first success, all relative, and installed them as one of the leading bands of the renaissance ska punk movement. After 4 years of tours in the United States and many replacements / line-up changes. In '97, Evildoers Beware! flows to 70,000 copies and sits their success. It is often considered one of the 2 master pieces of the combo, as well as Pray For Mojo released 2 years later, and recorded by the magical pair Bill Stevenson and Stephen Egerton. In between, they took part in the Ska Against Racism Tour alongside the Toasters and Less Than Jake, and then embarked on a Japanese tour. As the third ska wave ends, they exit Yellow #5 , still at Hopeless. Success is now more mixed. With this fifth opus, however, they crossed the mark of the 200,000 albums they had spent on their entire career. The best of Masterpieces: 1991 - 200 2 was released in 2005, announcing even more line-up changes. Since 2004, Kirchgessner has organized the famous Ska Is Dead Tour, an itinerant festival gathering the biggest sizes of the punk ska in recent years ( Catch 22 , Big D & the Kids Table , Planet Smashers are present on the first edition...)
2007 the band returns to the front of the stage with a new album. In Black & White signs the return of Mustard Plug in the gratin of the world ska-punk.
