Country: United Kingdom
Formed: 1960

Biography

Trained in Athens (Greece) by 4 friends, Mute the Silence immediately moves towards their favourite style, punk rock, even though the national scene is not well developed. They quickly find one of the only punk rock/hardcore labels in the country, PlayFalse Records, which signs them and releases their first EP in the year.
Vacant to his obligations (study, work), the quartet nevertheless finds time to open for Strung Out, The Lawrence Arms, BoySetsFire before a tour in the United Kingdom during which he will meet Phinius Gage. With a good half a dozen pieces on paper, they join the studios at the beginning of the year to record Cursed With Ambition (mixing is done in the United States by the heavyweight production Matt Hyde). The EP comes out at the end of the year in national at Venerate Industries, then the Japanese label In-n-Out Records ( Ceremonial Snips, Freygolo, Authority Zero, Rentokill, Not Available, New Found Glory, RX Bandits etc.) is interested in the band and supports the release in Japan. The group promotes it by turning as much as possible in Greece and then takes rest..
