Mütterlein

Mütterlein was formed in 2014 as a solo project of composer and multi-instrumentalist Marion Leclercq (ex Overmars) looking for a catharsis to overcome "the black sun of melancholy" carried by societal resentments and individual trials. The first album, Orphans Of The Black Sun, was released in 2016 via Sundust Records and witnessed Post-Punk influences and Occult Rock, as did Doom, Darkwave and Dark Folk incursions. With Bring Down The Flags, which appeared in 2021 at Debemur Morti Prodcutions (as well as a split with Limbes the same year), the musician experimented with electronic textures, Indus and Dark Ambient, while adding Black Metal and Noise elements that mix anger with tearing darkness.
