My Chemical Romance
Biography
Formed in New Jersey at the beginning of the millennium while its members are still young, My Chemical Romance soon became noticed in his native region (notably by his deans of Thursday), which earned them a signature on Eyeball Records (label on which the older brothers had released their first album Waiting). 2002 is the year of I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. After 2 years of tours with The Used , Taking Back Sunday , Story Of The Year etc. In late 2003, the quintet signed with Warner/Reprise (Green Day , Less Than Jake , The Distillers , The Used , GlassJAw etc) and recorded Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge which was born in June '04, just in time for the band's first participation in the Vans Warped Tour, followed in August by a first Japanese tour. Right after, a mini scandal was launched when drummer Matt Pelissier was ousted from the quintet to the benefit of manager Bob Bryar. Three Cheers... soon made them known to the general public, thanks to the promotion of Warner / Reprise, a big rotation on MTV and an abundant press that did not give any praise about them. Fan sites grow like mushrooms and their success generates hordes of fans. On March 21 '06 a double DVD / CD (live, clips, interviews etc.) Life On The Murder Scene is in the bins. On August 10, they started working with producer Rob Cavallo on The Black Parade. A video for the single "Welcome To The Black Parade" was filmed in August and the single was on the probes on September 11. Their performances attract a large number of fans (notably the UK at the Leeds and Reading festivals where they will receive the now infamous bottles of urine etc., still finishing their set), the highlight being a performance in London on 22 August in front of 1800 people whose tickets had left in 15 minutes.
The album The Black Parade was released on 24 October in the United States and 23 in the rest of the world, followed by several tours, including one on the famous Big Day Out festival and several charts. Followed by Danger Days in 2010 and the single "Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)" and a drum change with Michael Pedicone, all associated with a more Pop Futurist rhythm. Unfortunately, after some single movements and releases, the combo splits in 2013.
