Biography

Although the band has so far released only two albums, Myrkskog has existed since 1993. At the time, the line-up consisted of Destructhor (guitars), Master V (bass, singing) and a third member, Lars Petter (battery), who left the band the following year. The band, which played in an almost inevitable black metal style in Norway, experienced difficulties in stabilizing itself and recorded its first demo, Ode til Norge, only in 1995, using a drum machine. The band made a new start in 1996 when two strong musicians joined them, namely drummer Andres Eek of Funeral and Odium and guitarist secthdaemon also from Odium. The group decidedly marked by confusion only finally started in 1997 when Sectordaemon settled behind the drums. Engaged in a new musical direction, marked by aggression and a debauchery of violence typical of the brutal death, Myrkskog seems ready to catch fire and carry it everywhere. Their first recording consists of three pieces grouped on the demo Apocalyptic Psychotica - The Murder Tape in 1998. During the recording, the band contacted the guitarist Savant M ( Desolation , Archon , Maleficum ). Armed with his demo, Myrkskog takes the labels and Candlelight takes the song away. Since 1999, the band has been working on a first superpowerful brutal death album released in 2000, the very well-known Deathmachine. Although the Europeans welcomed this wild horde, Myrkskog was experiencing new difficulties which led to the departure of Savant M and Master V leaving it to Destructhor and Sectordaemon to continue the adventure. The latter then contact bassist Demariel (Odium once again) 200, who changes his name to Gortheon to mean all his involvement in this new project. Destructhor passing to singing, it was in the form of a trio that the band launched a new sonic attack in 2002 with Superior Massacre , a more aggressive album and with slightly different themes from the previous one. Since then, we've been waiting for another explosion from them. This is mainly due to the fact that both Destructhor and Sectordaemon are also part of Zyklon with former Emperor Trym and Samoth, a band that has already written three albums since 2001 in an equally brutal black/death record.
