Nashville Pussy

The Nashville Pussy are trained in Athens, Georgia, United States, by Blaine Cartwright and his wife Ruyter Suys. The band's name refers to a phrase Ted Nugent said to have spoken during a tour in Tennessee. This sentence is audible on the album Double Live Gonzo in introduction to the song Wang Dang Sweet Poontang . The band quickly distinguished itself from the Rock scene in Georgia by playing Hard Rock and Heavy Metal mixed with sounds reminiscent of Southern Rock. The band began by playing covers of ACDC , ZZ Top or Kiss , as well as some compositions by Blaine Cartwright. The couple was joined by bass player Corey Parks (who did not go unnoticed on stage from the top of his 1.91m) and drummer Adam Neal, also drummer of a previous Cartwright band. Due to its name and the lyrics of its songs, the band makes a very pornographic scene with Ruyter and Corey. Around 1995, Neal left the band and was replaced by Jeremy Thompson. Around 1998, the band began a cycle of major European and American tours. At that time, their first EP Let Them Eat Pussy comes out with a deliberately provocative cover, but which describes the group's philosophy: sex, fun and rock'n'roll. In 1999, the band moved to higher speed and toured with Marilyn Manson, allowing them to play in front of thousands of people. At the end of 1999, they even toured with their idols Motörhead and Lynyrd Skynyrd. In 2000 High As Hell was released, the second album with huge success. After festivals with Slipknot or Slayer, Corey Parks decided to leave the band for a variety of reasons, including its lack of involvement. It is replaced by Tracy Almazan, a training drummer, but who starts bassing; Tracy Almazan did not stay long and was replaced by Katie Lynn Campbell. In May 2002 the third album Say Something Nasty was released, synonymous with world recognition with leading tours in Europe, Japan and the United States. Katie Lynn left the Nashville Pussy to form her own band. At the end of 2004, the Nashville Pussy took a few months off. Blaine took the opportunity to find a new bass player, the lovely Karen Cuda, who was playing in a local Punk Rock band. In 2005 released a new album Get Some . Followed by tours in Europe, Japan and North America, including Reverend Horton Heat and a guest for a few dates, Lemmy Kilmister. The best of Dirty Best Of comes out next. Early 2009 released the album From Hell to Texas. In 2012, Karen Cuda no longer participated in the stage services due to health problems and was replaced by Bonnie Buitrago. On March 19, 2013, Karen officially announced her resignation from the group.
