Nasum
Biography
Nasum was created in late 1992 by Anders Jakobson (guitar) and Rickard Alriksson (battery/song) as side-project of Death Metal Necrony. The idea is then to play pure grindcore similar to the Napalm Death of the beginnings, i.e. grindcore committed, away from the goregrind affectionate by the whole scene of the genre at the time. After recording a first EP, Mieszko Talarczyk joined the band as second guitarist. After about ten DEPs and CD splits, the band recorded its first album, Inhale / Exhale , early 1998 at Relapse, as will be the case for all their future releases. This effort shows the band playing exactly what was announced and has a nice success in esteem. Shortly afterwards, Jesper Liveröd of Metalcore Burst's band was engaged to bass in order to replace Alriksson, who had left some time before, not wanting to give concerts. The group then began to shoot massively, taking part in the 1999 Contamination. Tour with Today Is The Day , Soulent Green , Exhumed and Morgion , and recorded a new series of EP. The band then released its second opus, Human 2.0 in mid-2000, and then toured again, including some dates with their Napalm Death idols. After another series, Urban Skytt ( Regurgitate ) was recruited in 2003 as second guitarist to record a second album, with Jackobson sliding to the drums. The band finally released Helvete in summer, but lost Jesper Liveröd who preferred to focus on Burst. It will be replaced by Jon Lindqvist, a fan of the first hour. A year later, the band released its new effort, Shift . With a line up finally stabilized, growing popularity, numerous prizes won and concert offers all over the world, the future looks bright for Nasum. Only fate caught up with the group during the Asian tsunami in late 2004, where Mieszko Talarczyk lost his life. The band's history ends with the death of its leader. R.I.P. A compilation of "B-sides" was released in 2006 under the name Grind Finale .
