Native Nod
Biography
Chris Leo (Chant) Danny Leo (Battery) Dave Lerner (Basse) Justin Simon (Guitare)
Influenced by Fugazi and Rites Of Spring, Native Nod was born in the early 1990s in the New York area and marked the hardcore emo scene with an ambivalent game, between pierced melodies of spoken words and more energetic parts. Their repertoire is limited to 9 tracks, first published on 3 7" and on the Fear of Smell compilation published on Vermiform. In 1996, Gern Blandsten Records gathered on a single record named Today Puberty, Tomorrow The World. Shortly after their separation, Chris Leo formed The Van Pelt and joined The Lapse. He sings today in Vague Angels. Dave Lerner will join Ted Leo And The Pharmacists and then Spectacular Birds (Ted Leo being Chris and Danny's brother). Danny Leo will form The Holy Childhood and then join Dutchess and The Gang. After a stay in Japan during which he plays in We Acediasts, Justin Simon returns to New York and takes care between his label, Mesh-Key Records ( We Acediasts, Chie Mujai, Nagisa Yoko, Yura Yura Teikoku), and his position as guitarist at Invisible Conga People.
