Necrophobic
Biography
Necrophobic is a Swedish Death Metal band formed in 1989 that has focused on sounds close to Dark Metal, also known as Blackened Death Metal. It is in the Stockholm area that the adventure begins when Joakim Sterner (battery) meets David Parland (guitar), the two young men are very influenced by Slayer , notably the album Reign in Blood from where they derive the name of the formation. Necrophobic's line-up was rather unstable at the beginning, several musicians succeeded each other in bass and singing, but this did not prevent the Swedes from recording 3 demos between 1990 and 1991 (Slow Asphyxiation, Retaliation, Unholy Prophecies). In 1993 things began to stabilize and the Scandinavians recorded their first album, The Nocturnal Silence, which received many positive reviews in the Underground milieu, but it was with the second opus that the band made known, Darkside released in 1997, Necrophobic's Death stood out and took on a more Dark Metal identity, Jon Nödtveidt the famous leader of Dissection made an appearance on the title Nailing The Holy One. After this success the career of Necrophobic is launched but they will find it difficult to reach the level of Darkside, very active, will be released in 1999 The Third Antichrist , in 2002 Bloodhymns , in 2006 Hrimthursum , in 2009 Death to All and finally in 2013 Womb of Lilithu . The only member who will participate in all the achievements is the drummer, Joakim Sterner, the rest of the line-up will be subjected to many changes. Necrophobic nevertheless remains a sure value in its genre. The topics discussed are essentially occult with texts oriented to death, satanism, darkness and anti-Christianism.
