Negate
Biography
Wallonia (Belgium), 1996: The Negate group was formed by Johan Nunez (Battery), Justin Veronesi (Basse), Greg Avau (Guitare) and Arnaud Detry (Chant). A year later, they recorded their first ep Between Anger And Pain on a Belgian label. It was in 2000 that the first real album The Fifth Season was recorded while Negate began to shoot in Spain. Four months later, the band released this by recording a new ep, Tragik Circus, at Dark Sun Records, and then making its first clip for Summertime. At this moment, the band's musical style is oriented towards a dark and powerful Metalcore. They play at a few festivals like Dour and Germany during their little tour. Thanks to the press, interviews, the success of Tragik Circu s and their performances, Negate signed a contract with Voice Of Life Records for the recording of their second album in 2002, The Dead Guy Palace. The band chained the concerts in Belgium and in the same year changed its label to Goodlife Recordings. Greg then left his position as guitarist to be replaced by François-Xavier Marciat, then the band was opened for many artists such as Paul Di Anno (ex- Iron Maiden), Samael, The Gathering ... The album Enemy was released in 2003 on the same label. After five years of absence, Negate reformed in 2009 with JP (ex-Death Before Disco) replacing Arnaud for a final concert at the Tamines MJ, the very place where they were doing rehearsals ten years earlier.
