Biography

Originally from Timisoara in Transylvania, Negura Bunget appeared on the initiative of Hupogrammos Disciple's (song, guitars) and Negru (drums). The first demo of the group From Transilvanian Forests was released under the name Wiccan Rede in 1995, and the band finally chose Negura Bunget . Very attached to its Romanian roots, Negura Bunget highlights them even in its name which comes from the ancient Romanian, and means "forest in the mist". The band plays in a style that can be described as atmospheric black metal, at the crossroads of black pagan and folk. His approach is imbued with mysticism and harmony between man and his environment. The themes of the songs thus address Nature, the Cosmos, the Universe, always from a mystical angle, unique to the ancient beliefs in the Transylvanian region. After the release of his first album, Zîrnindu-să (1996), the band received the reinforcement of a third member, Spurcatu, and released a more ambitious EP, Sala Molksa (1998), followed by a second album, Maiastru Sfetnic (2000 which allows them to shoot in Europe. This leads them to sign with the Italian label code666 Record ( Ephel Duath , Manes , Void Of Silence ...) for three records. Thus N'Crugu Bradului , in 2002, variation on the theme of the four seasons, then Inarborat Kosmos , a new ep, in 2005. The band refines its approach, progresses musically and gives birth to a superb fourth album, Om , at the end of October 2006. Currently, the group has established itself in Germany.
